This web potal has been created by Management Information (MIS) System of DGHS. MIS also maintains the web portal. The DGHS is one of the agencies of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of Bangladesh. DGHS stands for Directorate General of Health Services. The main functions of this agency implementation of health programs and services for the ministry of health. In addition, the DGHS provides technical assistance to the ministry.
The DGHS was established as directorate in 1958 during the Pakistan era. In 1980, it has been upgraded to directorate general. The head of DGHS is Director General. He is assisted by two Additional Directors General. Besides, directors, deputy directors, assistant directors and other officers and staffs helped him execute the responsibilities. In all medical college hospitals and divisional levels, directors are responsible for executive functions. In medical colleges or other academic institutions, there are principals.
In districts, there are civil surgeons and in upazilas, there are upazila health & family planning officers. The director of Management Information System is Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad. He has also another responsibility of Additional Director General of Planning & Development.
